High Country Soccer Association Adult League


The HCSAAL began in the Fall of 2010, offering an opportunity for recreation soccer for adults in the High Country region. The purpose of the HCSAAL is to provide an additional source of income to supplement the youth programs of HCSA.

The HCSAAL will be operated as a member of the North Carolina Adult Soccer Association. Players will be required to be members in good standing with NCASA.

The Spring 2011 season will begin March 30th with games on Wednesday and Sunday evenings at 7:00pm, 8:15pm and 9:30pm.

The cost for returning players (players with a pass issued in the Fall of 2010) is $75. New players will be charged $100 ($25 covers the player pass).

General Rules:

  • All players must present NCASA player identification to the referee at the field
  • Shinguards are mandatory for each player.  No shinguards = NO play.
  • Team captains must provide the official an HCSAAL Game Day Roster prior to the start of the game.
  • All teams must provide a $100 check for the team's Performance Bond. The check will be cashed in the event of a game forfeit. If a forfeit occurs, the bond must be replaced before the team can play again.

Standard FIFA Laws of the Game are enforced with these exceptions:

  1. Team Composition – teams will be composed of 7 players on the field (6 field players and a goalkeeper).  Maximum total roster size is 14.  The minimum number of players a team must have to start a game is 5.

  2. Field Size – field size will be 76 yards long by 55 yards wide.

  3. Goal Size – Goals will be 7 feet tall by 7 yards wide.

  4. Games will be 2 halves of 30 minutes each with a 5-minute interval.

  5. The play from the Goalkeeper's hand - punt, throw or drop-kick, must touch either the ground or a player prior to crossing the half-field line. An indirect free kick is awarded at the centerline for any infraction.

  6. Goal kicks must touch either the ground or a player prior to crossing the half field line. An indirect free kick is awarded at the half line for any infraction.

  7. Three officials will govern each game.

  8. Each team will be required to wear a uniform consisting of the same shirt with numbers to differentiate each player.

Fees

Each player will be assessed a fee of $100.  Fees will be used to cover:

  • Referees
  • Registration with state organization
  • Player insurance
  • Marketing and administration
  • Field costs and lights

League Schedule

The league will consist of 6 or more teams.  Each team will play every team twice (subject to modification).  There will be a 4 game playoff to close the season (2 Semi-finals, 1 Third place game and 1 Championship game).
